Dinosaur Ridge

For preschool we took a mini trip to Dinosaur Ridge. It is a pretty cool place, but we sure went on a hot hot day! We only hiked to the 1st stop along the many mile route, but the kids still loved it. They had many dinosaur bones to investigate and a few places to dig for fossils.

Then we went to visit IKEA! The kids were super excited & had fun in the play yard.

Fishing

One Saturday afternoon we decided to go fishing. We headed into Boulder and found a quiet fishing area and set up shop. The kids were looking forward to catching a fish.

We had a yummy lunch.

So did the ducks...the kids had a blast feeding them their leftover food.

Carter loves ducks and is not afraid of them at all. They loved him too of course because he continually fed them. :)

We caught a lot of these.

After a while, we had no luck in catching any fish. We headed back to the river/stream. We had a few visitors! Can you see them?

A few deer were making their way across...Emma wanted to catch one and ride it. :)

Then we tried another spot to see if we could catch some fish for dinner.

Nope, nothing. So we continued to explore. We found some huge trees and more wildlife. All in all it was a super fun/relaxing day.

Fun Run

Emma's school does an annual fun run as a fundraiser for the school. The kids all participate in doing obstacle courses and fun activities while the families can come and observe. Emma loves this event and was pretty bummed when she came down with the flu the day before. Thankfully, she felt okay enough to go to participate the next day. Here are some fun photos from the day.

And when we were home, the kids rested while listening to Emma read them some books.

Preschool

Carter is in preschool this year. We are doing a swap between different moms. There are 6 kids in the class and Carter is enjoying it so far. This was the 1st week of preschool.

We learned about the letter A and the number 1. Here is Cody making the number 1.

Party Time!

After the wedding it was time for a party! One reception was the same day as the wedding and the second one was the next night. We all partied a ton! It was so much fun! My kids adored Adri's parents house...it even has a built in secret slide---inside the house! Yes, my kids were sad to leave :)

I have no pictures from the reception the next night, but it was beautiful also. We were so partied out and ready to sleep, but we left early the next morning to come back home. School, work, reality, etc...needed to be addressed :) Congrats to Greg & Adri! We loved being a part of your special day.
