Ending the Summer

The summer was nearing the end.  I let the kids choose 1 thing they wanted to do the last week of summer.  Here were their choices:
Cody: Lakeside (check)
Carter: Swimming
Emma: Sell books (?)
Okay, we accomplished Lakeside the first part of the week and then the kids decided the bucket in the backyard was a perfect swimming pool.  (don't worry, we also went swimming at a super fun pool).
 I can't believe they all fit...haha
Emma found and caught a frog.
 Carter sporting the shades
We spent a lot of time outside...Carter was loving his bike
We had a quick trip to the zoo.
 Cody loves giraffes and elephants
 The sloth.
I attempted more bread recipes....the cinnamon roll.  They turned out SO good!  This was for Greg's seminary kids on the 1st day.
And finally...selling books.  Emma spent a lot of time making her own books and wanted to sell them.  Our subdivision was having a garage sale, so she set up shop.  Surprisingly enough, she make a fair amount of money!  She sold them for 26 cents each.
 She had plenty of choices...
 The happy store owner
 I love this one :)
It was hot and windy, but she loved every minute of it!
I found a treasure...or one that will be a treasure.  Totally free and in need of some TLC.  This is the beginning of the project...more pictures will follow someday...
And my crafty husband made this while we were slaving away on the house in Idaho.  We finally have a headboard!  Now on to painting all the furniture to match.  :)

Lakeside X's 2!

The kids earned lakeside tickets also from their summer reading program.  We had enough for 2 visits so we went once in the late afternoon/evening and then the next time only spent a few hours there.  It is basically a non-traveling carnival amusement ride place that is pretty cheesy, but the kids love it.  We went armed with plenty of hand sanitizer and food.

Day 1
The cars were Cody's favorite by far.
 The smile :)
Day 2 we brought along a few cousins.  Carter was very unsure about the Frog Hopper at first...
 It got worse...
Then he loved it and went on it almost the rest of the time we were there.
 The girls ready to ride!
 My adorable niece Charly
 The rollar coaster!
 Flying high!
 Dinner time...
 Merry go round time!
Spinning hearts...this one took many of the kids by surprise.
Ashley didn't enjoy this one very much...
I love this picture!  Carter was loving the fast moving cars.
The the girls ended the night with a fun cousin sleepover.  Here they are all ready for movie night.
